I didn't mind putting it together the instructions were easy to follow and took 20 minutes at most. I have the fixed seat height and really like that but I have two youth hunters and thought the adjustable seat would be a nice feature. Well it is but when it gets cold it squeaks I was hunting in November and I couldn't move without it making noise I got busted by many deer and didn't hunt that stand again. The stand was
Fine when the weather was in the 40 degree range but below that I couldn't move. I may try to weld it in place or try to bolt it solid in position to see if that helps.

Assembly is a pain
I stopped buying ladder stands because I wanted to be more mobile and because I was sick of assembling stands. For the amount of money this stand costs, it should be assembled in the box. The stand is rock solid in the tree and the t-screw is awesome for assisting while hanging the stand but I won't buy another one of these. I can buy a Gorilla King Kong HX for $70 bucks less and hang it in the tree straight out of the box. I would rather spend my time in the stand than putting it together.

Not worth the price
Put the stand together and was pretty dissapointed with the ratchet strap. One reason why I bought API was because I had heard the strap was superior to other brands - not true in my experience. The strap is difficult to undo and two hands were literally needed to undo the strap. Possibly just a faulty ratchet? Also the paint starting chipping off in large pieces and this was after assembly - it didn't even get to see a tree before the paint chips came off. Overall light stand and does the job but a little dissappointing between ratchet and quality of paint.
