They all work, at different times. No one scent works all of the time. The Bass Assassin works well for me most of the time, but that is not to put the Yum down either.

If anything, I think the Yum may work better in sub 50 degree water and the Assassin in 50 degree and above. But, ask me next year and I may change my mind.

Trout are not that picky. If you are talking hold over trout, not stalkers, I'd go with worm or crayfish flavors, but shad works well also.

The ones I have used appear to be clear, almost colorless. I suppose there might be a very light yellow tint to them if you concentrate them.

I have used the spray Activate in the past. It seems to work ok, but it gets all over my baits and hands, and it cost alot. Is there a better attractant to use?

Personally, I love smelly-jelly. It isnt exactly cost effective (5 bucks for a small jar) but I tried it with this kind, and with strike king, and I always catch more on the smelly-jelly.-Chas

Get something that is craw oil based. I have found all the Berkley attractants to was off with the lack of oil in them. This makes them worthless after 3 casts. The best scent by far is Nitro Gravy Craw scent. Soon as you open the bottle to smell it you'll know what I'm talking about
