Yes they should , I have had both in the past. They changed the shell design so you cant use the new type in a shotgun.

the old style shotshells would, HOWEVER it will badly scorch your barrel ! Dont do it !

No, not designed for it. Also if a shotgun has even a small choke it may get caught in the barrell.
