i would try the 3 inch minnow first and the work your way up from there but the 4 inch minnow is pretty much an all around size. i have caught many five+ pound bass in one of my ponds with the 3 inch yellow minoow

If no one answers I will try this out and report the answer. Looking at the video, you can work it wacky style. That makes me wonder how effective it would be on a drop shot.

A:
It depends on how the fish are feeding. For aggressive bass/fish try a frantic random jerk in a 1, 12, 1, 12 pattern.

If the fish are picky try drop shot, wacky, or even carolina rigged bouncing on the bottom.

This is a great go to lure when they wont hit anything else.

I got mine off of the TV infomercial, it included a DVD with it that gave visual instructions and tips on how to work it for the best results. One way is to fish it "wacky style", "twitch-n-drop", even "dead stick" it. But the "bread-n-butter" technique is the "twitch-n-drop". And it is most effective in a clear water enviroment, because it has no rattles or sound attracters.
I hope this helps you out, but don't be afraid to experiment and let the fish tell you themselves, Afterall; they can tell you better than anyone esle can.

Sometimes you have to just figure out what the fish want. Try changing colors and different types of coverage and vegetation. I always use the jerk and real in the slack, try letting it fall longer.

I flip it in close to cover, lily pads submerged logs and let it fall, then i twitch rod tip and slowly reel in that slack. Generally Bass hit it on the fall. I don't use the other tecniques in the video.

Id ask you where are you catching them before you try the banjo? These are more like a jerk bait so they are best in clearer shallow water and go through cover well without hanging up.

Zoom Finesse worm in junebug or watermelonseed rigged on a 1/0 straight shank lite-wire hook Texas rigged weightless, fished with 6 or 8# mono on a spinning rod. Cast near the fish and just let it sink a foot or two, then twitch up and let it sink back down. If it doesn't strike after two or three casts pinch the bulbous tail off and repeat, continue pinching off another inch or so until it strikes. AND IT WILL STRIKE. Sometimes the worm will be so short it barely extends beyond the hook bend. TRY IT, you'll be glad you did,

something that has alot of action to make them have a reaction strike.... like a crankbait dragging along the bottom... a tube is a really good reaction bait.... but the color you choose would be key because your in clear water.... try crawfish colors... if that doesnt work try a white color... make sure your also working the tube right or you wont get strikes.... just pop it and let it fall..... make sure you pop it enough to let it have slack after the pop... one more thing.... use tube hooks... hope this helped

It DOES really work! Some fishing "purists' may laugh it off - they'll never know! My favorite is the 3" chartreuse minnow - never had luck with the frogs. You can just hook them through the head - but to get the action correct - you rig them to a small spring that attaches to a hook or a jig hook! there are all kinds of accessories like small rubber bands that act as weed guards.Very cool product!

It does work, well at that. Its very effective where I fish and has great action. I would certainly eat it if I were a fish. A few of them come rigged, there are 6 pairs of eyes I believe, but if not they are very easy to rig. How it works is you push the eyes through the holes in the heads of the minnows. There is also a little loop that comes straight out from the eyes through the nose, you put a hook through that and then use the rubber bands they give you as weed guards for the hook, so that the hook is only through the hard plastic part and won't tear up the bait when a fish strikes.

A:
The device works well but has some drawbacks:

The bait fish changes very easily from the hook. The bait is attached to the hook's back curve by a loop on the eye.

The hook uses a tiny rubber band to make it weedless.

The kit is not preassembied but it is very simple and the possible configurations are very numerous.

Cons - If the bass takes the plastic bait fish, but not the hook, the attachment point is not a strong plastic and you will loose the eye and plastic bait fish.
