A:
open the lid all the way, cut the corner or top of a bag of feed, put the bag on your shoulder and dump it into the top. You can do it from the ground. Sometimes I stand on a log to look down in it. It holds 4 bags of 40 lb corn.

A:
Simply open the top of feeder, which is slightly less than 6 feet high, and pour in the corn or other feed. No ladder or step is needed.

I am 5'10" and have no problems pouring in 5 gallon buckets of corn.

First of all, you need to be at least 5' 9" tall, as I am. You just open the lid, lift the bag of corn up and pour it in to the barrel. It is not a tall feeder. That's why they call it "easy fill". Good luck!

Squirrels can chew through this material. I had the same problem with another brand feeder made of a similar material.

The lid and body are thick, heavy plastic. Hogs chewed on mine and could not chew through the lid or feeder body.

We have some of those "sabre toothed squirrels" down here around our parts too. I have had to put epoxy filler on some of my plastic feeder barrels where they chewed/clawed their way through. I don't know if they are on the endangered species list or not, but those sabre toothed varmints are going to meet their creator if I catch them at my feeder this year!

A:
I takes 1 six volt lantern battery. It won't work with a 12 volt. My six volt lasts about six months, usually. You can rig up a solar charger to the unit, and if you use the rechargable six volt, it could last a LOONNGG time.

6v Moultrie Battery with the posts works best. The spring post batteries work to, but the alligator clips grip the pots better
