This unique 2-postion pedestal system allows the seat to be used in the full upright position while fishing or down in the lower position while boat is underway. Constructed from corrosion-resistant aluminum, the Plug-In Hi-Lo set includes the base, post and swivel. When you’re done fishing, the set quickly breaks down for easy storage. The post can be removed and the swivel inserted directly into the base for safe travel and storage. Measures: 2-38” diameter; 15” high.

If it not recommended by the manufacturer to secure with rivets. You may have to remove the product one day and could void the warranty if damaged by owner and not "normal wear and tear."
