I have not measured it, but it would seem to be within 12 to 14 inches.

I just measured it at almost12 inches total length - and that's the minimum space you will need available to fit it in your tackle-box.

A:
From my experience, this scale is accurate to the pound. You can tell a 5 pounder from a 6 pounder, but not much beyond that.

A:
The scale is indeed accurate as I tested it by weighing my Olympic weight plates. However you will have to be content rounding off to the nearest pound as the markings are few and hard to read.

I would estimate around a pound - light enough to carry in your tackle box.

A:
This scale is not digital, it's a spring style scale with a sliding indicator that moves up and down the scale with weight.

Can this be calibrated?

Details:
I see most of the complaints about this item relate to the scale's inaccuracy. Is there a way to calibrate this scale?

Thanks in advance.

A:
No. They calibrate it at the factory during construction, but it cannot be re-calibrated by the consumer.

I don't think so, but unless you are needing to be really precise, it seems close enough for me.

No there is no adjustment to tune the scale. I weighed packages of meat that had there weight on the label. The scale was roughly what the labels said. You can't really complain with a mechanical scale. Just purchase the digital one from Berkley it will cost more.
