Is this good for kids?

Details:
I want to get my nephew a setup for Christmas and all the Shakespeare and Zebco setups for kids seemed very chinsy and looked like they won't hold up very long. This one caught my eye and seems like it would be small and light enough for a 4 year old to fish with. Also it looks like it will hold up better than the others.

A:
Yes, my nephews are 4 and 8, and both used this with ease. This is a nice set up for kids, as it is not a toy like the other kids rod and reel combos.

I have a 5 and 3 year old grandkids and this is a perfect rod for them. It is way better than the cheap cartoon rods and both of them can use this rod with ease.

it will hold up. the thing u wanna look for is a steel reel and a nice rod. which this combo has. if u ever take it in brackish water twist off the cap on the reel and rinse it off. this protects the reel from corrosion and make sure to oil/grease it often to ensure smooth casting.

Great questions because i fish in an area where there are a lot of trout and a lot of catfish and i recently caught a 15 inch cat fish and had no problem reeling it in.
