A:
Any of the top names such as Berkley/Suffix will be good. I would use a limp line like the Berkley Trilene XL "exta limp" or similar because of the very small spool size you will want to avoid spool memory of the line. Flurocarbon line is great for that as well because it won't retain the spool shape after long periods. An XT "extra tough" line will get spool memory and become loopy.

Your description says 5 bearings including power lock anti-reverse. Does that mean it is 4 bearings not counting the power lock anti-reverse?

A:
Yes. It has 4 main bearings and the anti reverse has one for a total of 5. That is what the designation of what 4+1 means when talking about the bearings.

I bought a Browning Superlight Spinning Reel and the "Manual" doesn't help anyone new to this type of fishing. I'm from B.C. Canada and normally am a fly angler. Out here in Ontario, everyone is into bait!

A:
Anti-reverse prevents you from reeling backwards unless your reel has a switch to disengage that action. Some older/cheaper reels would allow a partial turn backwards before stopping which isn't good for hook setting. Instant anti-reverse means just that "instant" so there isn't any amount of back pedaling/reeling. Powerlock is a marketing term to make the anit-reverse function sound better.

A:
There is a little switch on the back of the reel. If it is to the left, you can turn the reel backwards. If the switch is to the right, the reel will not move in reverse, thus anti-reverse.

A:
Antireverse is a feature where the handle doesn't turn backwards. All spinning reels have had this for some time. Instant anti reverse has been around for about 20 years now and is presently on almost every modern spinning reel produced. It is a feature where there is absolutely no backplay in the handle. This feature ensures better hooksets than regular antireverse and also give the angler better feedback when working finesse baits, because the handle won't move back and bump the stop.

A:
There is a switch on the lower back end of the reel. If you flip the swicth in one direction, the reel handle will back spin freely. This can help when playing big fish. It allows you to backwind. Flip the switch the other way and it stops the reel from back spinning, allowing your drag to do the work. Helps on hooksets also.

This reel is not good for any kind of fishing because it is a horrible product. Save yourself some aggravation and purchase another reel.
