No its not didital, there are lines marked on the gripper that is revealed as the spring is stretched, the lines are marked with numbers indicating the weight.

No it's a spring scale with numbers etched on the shank of the scale in 1/4 pound increments. The best thing about this scale is you can attach it to something to give you free hands to get the hook out or get your camera ready or what have you. best bang for the buck in my opinion. Digital scales are too problematic.
