Yes and the fact that they make a lot of noise coming across the water is why they are so effective both night and day.I use an Owner 6/0 EWG Superline Wide Gap Hook. That way I can use the same rod for fishing a BigEZ or a Skinny Dipper.

I have not tired at night but their should be no reason for this lure not to work and yes you will be able to use the Stanley double hook (works great together). When night fishing and shady areas use black or dark patterns that produce maximum contrast against the bottom or against a starlight surface.Details:
how do these guys work texas rigged 4/0 ewg worm hookpresented in open water in a pond there isnt alot of vegattaion but there are big bass I just caught a 22incher but they only seem to hit live bait

it represents a live frog, if you fish it like a live frog, i don't see why they wouldn't hit it. ur after aggressive bass with this bait.

If you have no vegetation, do not texas rig them. I prefer a 5/0 on these, but a 4/0 works too. Sink the top of the hook deep, but leave the point out, stiff, working near the legs. Also, I'd make sure the hook is a black nickel instead of red. For some reason I get less strikes on these in red.Details:

Just make sure you've rigged the hook straight down the body of the bait, any bit off center will cause the bait to roll. Also it just tends to roll if you're casting reeling it in as apposed to flipping with it.Images for this Answer

try a weighted worm hook, it acts like a keel and keeps it right side up, or just crimp on a split shot to the worm hook you are using, the weight will help it stay upright, it will sink faster this way but not that much fast,er just retrieve a little faster to start to get it to the top then you can slow down to normal speed. or just engage your reel before it hits the water, which is what i doA:
Nothing wrong with you.It's the bait sometimes when a weightless approach is need a quick little pop will usually rite the bait.But if your still turning over use swim bait style hook but you want to use a hook with the weight attached near the bottom of the bend. If you don't the bait will want to nose dive. When going weight keep baits nose up by a raised rod tip.Answers

Present in the veggies or out right swim it you can't go wrong.But like any other bait in fishin practice and trail and error.

Those are some Janky looking hooks. I use the Zoom Horn Toad hooks and I screw the spring lock onto the nose and Txspose the hook into the bait. I run it along the weeds and hang on.Details:

No.... they both have their place. I find for thicker veggie's go with the Cane toad . For open swimming Stanely's work well with thier long profile.
