A:
The advantage of this snap is that there is no swivel. A swivel has an adverse affect on lure action, and the use of this snap is the closest you can get to tieing directly to the lure.

A:
Yes, unless you are using a lure that will cause line twist as some spinner baits do. In that case use a barrel swivel about 12" or more ahead of it to avoid affecting the action of the lure.

There is probably no practical limit to what it can handle. I have personally caught bass up to 11 and a half pounds, and several grass carp up to 43 lbs, and have had no problems with breakage or unwanted opening.

#2 = 30lbs
#3 = 40lbs
#4 = 60lbs
#5 = 85lbs
#6 = 150lbs

I have used #1, 2, and 3 for various applications. The 1 is the smallest, and except for lightweight lures in cold water, it's not needed and is kind of hard to use if you've got big hands. All of them work well.

do a google search for "fishing sizing chart" and there's some resources to help you. The higher the number, the smaller the size.

I think #01 is the smallest available size online at BPS. I would have to check the product description again.
Compare them by sight.
There are several brands, several makers of these clips.
I always have a pack of small, black ones ( which I believe are #01 size )
Set the drag on your reel properly, you should have no problems.
The different size clips are lb. test rated, but I've forgotten what they are.
I like tying the Palomar knot. It is really strong.
Highly recommended item. Allows fast changing of different lures and color baits.
Makes a days fishing go smoother. Less time retying. More productive time fishing.
Also, wastes less line.
On minnow and crank lures the action is unhindered. Better presentation.
Good luck.
