St. Croix® Premier® Series Crankbait Rods

This is where most anglers get their first taste of St. Croix® quality. Advanced IPC Integrated Poly Curve® technology eliminates "dead zones" in the blank; you'll find the casts uniformly crisp and clean, and the actions finely tuned. Fitted with genuine Fuji® graphite reel seats and select-grade cork handles for supreme sensitivity and easy handling. And now they're even lighter, faster and stronger [Read More]

A:
These rods have a moderate action, meaning they flex in the middle of the rod. They are meant to be used with crankbaits and other lures where too much sensitivity would cause you to set the hook too quickly. Some people also use these rods for lipless cranks, spinnerbaits etc. If you're looking for an all-around rod, rather than a rod to use spefically for 1 or 2 types of lures, I would not suggest this rod. In that case look for a fast action rod in the regular premier series, it will flex at the tip and be more sensitive.

A:
The KVD rod my dad uses the 7'10MH lacks sensitivity and is VERY tip heavy.. however it does keep fish pinned well and has a very nice parabolic action.

The Croix rods are better balanced and far lighter however they will not keep fish pinned as well as the KVD rod. so thats what you need to think about do you want a more sensitive rod thats lighter and balanced better.. or a rod that is far less comfortable but hooks and keeps fish hooked better.

A:
depends what series of rod you bought. i think triumph series have a one year,
premiers have a 3 or 5 and avids and up have a limited lifetime warranty. if you do break one i believe there is a small replacement fee from st croix
