That's all i use is ultra lite spinning reel's. Ur not casting along ways, but you would be surprised how far it will cast a 1/8 oz. jig head.

No… You really don’t want to mount a spinning real in a costing rod or the other way around. It just would not work. The guides are made differently to allow the line to pass freely

I use a shimano 2000, reel with fire line.

i use the abu garcia cardinal 100. its the smallest spincast that they make. it holds plenty of line for trolling. if you are wanting to cast i would go one size bigger on reel.
