The bait doesn't suspend, however, you can count the lure down to the depth of where the fish are suspending. Every second is equal to one foot due to the weighting of the lure, so you can tell exactly how deep the lure is. You can then retreive it at a steady rate to keep the lure from falling or rising. To test out how fast for your reel, simply do a test retrieve along the side of your boat until you find that speed.

A: 
You can let it sink to the depth you want and retrieve it back to you. Use the jerk style action or the stop and go. This lure should be deadly on trout and white bass.

I fish this lure just like any other Crankbait. Its Really simple. Real constantly at a pretty fast speed for a few seconds kes for the lure to perform well (can see how it performs when it gets close to you in the water). Then quickly slow down for about a second and speed right back up like before. I have had great sucess with this lure.
