I would think it would be a great musky reel. It casts like a rocket and holds a ton of line. The only drawback I could think of is the HC model has a live bait style handle. Meaning it is not a conventional double handle. It has one spot for your hand and a counterweight on the other end.

Mine came with power handle and no double handle. I believe the HC's are the only ones that come with power handle. The rest all have double handles. Hope this helps.
