Old Town snapin seat

Details: 
I have aa Old Towne 17' Guide canoe.I would like to use it to fish alone.Is it preferable to get a snap on seat and use my side mount bracket and a trolling motor,would I have more control and stability from that location?

I'm not sure about the stability thing. It would drive in circles also. Those are my concerns. Give it a little test run.

Measure it. Usually with this particular model it should fit just about any canoe, but to be safe run into your local bass pro or call them.
