This smoker emits quite bit of smoke. It is not recommended for use in the garage.

well it will emit quite a bit of smoke when you start smoking. I would only use it in a garage with the doors open.

The heat is no different then a Weber grill or simular but depending on the amount of wood chips it can produce a large amount of smoke. If the garage door is wide open and you have a draft I don't think it would be to bad.

I would not use it in a garage, it makes a lot of smoke. I cook on my deck so I never notice excessive heat but you can see the smoke rolling out of it!! It's a great smoker.

There is not a electric smoker adapter for the unit. This is for charcoal only.

Details: 
I have tried an expensive Bradley, and a not as expensive Masterbuildt, and have not had good results from either. The Bradley 4-rack had a hot spot up the back and on the bottom, and the Masterbuildt would not get hot enough to smoke the wood. I am looking for a dependable electric smoker that is tall enough to hang sausage casings for processing deer meat, as well as any other smoking uses. Any suggestions on what to buy without breaking the bank, or should I build my own?
