Hey BigDogg,I like mono for topwater fishing. Fluorocarbon sinks and may actually make your topwater fishing more difficult. With topwater there isn't a lot of guess work when the fish strikes so I don't see the advantage of fluoro's sensitivity for topwater applications.
Mono is cheap, forgiving, and very castable, which is a bonus when you are throwing lighter topwater baits. The stretch of mono also gives a little and absorbs some of the impact of a fish during the fight. Therefore I prefer mono for treble hooks for that very reason.

Monofilament is a very forgiving line. It's easy to learn to tie knots with and casts well but is more abrasive and less sensitive than fluorocarbon. Fluorocarbon provides good sensitivity to hits, but will also offer some give when a fish hits to make sure the hooks stick.Details:

I use a trailer hook on all of my buzzbaits. I caught my best bass on the trailer hook...

You can use a trailer but I've not had a great deal of success using one, different result on a spinnerbait, however. Suggest using a trailer hook on either spinner or buzzbait if fish are missing it. Buzz baits are frequently used in some areas for red fish...trout not at all to my knowledge.A:
Definitely use a trailer! This bait is great for big bass but a redfish would probably destroy it.Answers

I could not answer for clear water, but black definatly works well for dark water.A:
They are all good colors, i throw black early morning and late night, then switch to lighter colors around cover. I like to throw white around trees and grass, and chartreuse chartreuse/white around rocks and coves and sandbars.Answers
