i have a crossman pumpmaster 760 which shoots 675 fps fully pumped with pellets. it is .177 cal. is this enough to hunt squirrels? also, any pellet recommendations??
I have shot many squirrels with this model gun in my younger years. It works fine but the shot must be well placed. Head shots don't work as well as heart shots. For pellets, I like the RWS Super points. and the Beeman Kodiaks.
yup! use the crosman destroyer or crosman premier hollow point. ive tested every style of pellet and those do the most damage to wood. they will take out any squirrel. i have a 760 and ive taken out plenty with it.
I have the same gun and use 7-9 pumps when hunting squrriel and other small game. I would have to recommend by far the best pellet to hunt with is The Desroyer by Crosman. http://www.basspro.com/Crosman-Destroyer--177-Caliber-Pellets-250-Count/product/10212436/-1672387
This question is best answered by your local sporting goods store or firearms dealer. Age varies in different localities. I don't know your current age, but if your parent(s) have no objections and believe you are ready to take on the responsibility, s/he can buy the gun for you. Otherwise, in most places, you may have to be at least 18 to buy it yourself.
first you have to buy scope mount for this rifle which you can buy here but search for airgun/ air gun mount and the one which says 4 piece airgun mount and now you can add any scope you want but for this rifle i rocmmend to you to buy a center point, they are cheaper than leupold
I hope I'm asking this correctly? I have a 40+ year old Sheridan "Blue Streak" that takes .117 cal. 5mm pellets. I'd like to put a scope on it but it doesn't appear this gun has a "dovetail"(?) rail on it. So, is there a way I can still attach a scope to it - maybe something I can easily purchase at Bass Pro? Sorry, don't know much about air rifles. My dad found the gun in his attic and decided to give it to me. I've been shooting it recently and it's a GREAT gun! Even without the sight I've been able to become fairly accurate.
unfortunately if it doesn't have a rail system on it yoiu will have to rig something up. worst case sip tie the scop securely down then you are still able to sight it.
