A: 
I get more bites and fish with the red color because I think it looks like a blood stream under your worm. If that isn't it, then I don't know how to explain more bites and fish.

In clear, unstained water use the red hook color because after several feet under water, the red color becomes difficult for the fish to notice. Use the bronze ones in stained or muddy water because color will not be an issue. B.P.
