if it doesnt say you kind of have to guess. i prefer spiderwire to monofiliment line because of the strength and low flex and no memory.

it works great for large lake trout either jigging or trolling down to 160 fow i use this very rod not only for lake trout but for kokanee salmon here in colorado and i fish for browns,bows,cuts in many streams.

I have 2 ugly sticks with abu garcia reels and I have used up 3/4oz lures on them with 8lp test. And never had a problem casting! And for bait no problem. I pulled in A 9lb3oz Channelcat with the ugly stick and it was pulled in a 180dg. and bounced back when I landed that fish.

Absolutely. I took out my Ugly Stik combo this past weekend and fished storm lures and senko plastic worms. Specifically I was jigging for bass using the BlueGill Shad Storm Lure. I had great success from shore fishing for bass with jigs and softbait lures.

I fished this combo with cranks of several different sizes and manufactures. I also used jigs 1/4 ounce with trailers and had no reel or rod problems. Didn't try worms but feel this rig would handle that as well.

I have been using several lures on this pole and from small to larger sizes. I do alot of bass fishing with it and have had no issues with it. When I first started using it I didnt like the line that was on it as I was having alot of issues with it, but since changing to 12lb test line it has worked fine. I would say the lure that I use the most is a top frog like the SPRO® Bronzeye Frogs. Hope this helps.

I have used plastic worms with a quarter ounce rubber core and it performed well at a creek. I havent tried crankbaits, but spinner baits work.
