Customer Reviews   Description   Outdoor Answers
These Eagle Claw Aberdeen Hooks offer extra width between the point and shank which makes them perfect for baiting with minnows. The light wire design works to minimize excessive puncturing to help keep minnows alive longer, while Eagle Claw's special tempering process allows their Aberdeen Hooks to flex before breaking making them ideal for fishing bush water for crappie.

Number 8 is a small hook. You can even get a size 10, which I like for panfish.

A:
I like the Aberdeen hook, size 10. I use Eagle Claw or Mustad. The Aberdeen has a long shank which makes it easier to get out if the fish swallows the hook.

A:
A #6 to #10 hook with a long shank would be best since the long shank is easier to remove from a blue gill's small mouth. Item number 38-455-600-08 on this page would be a good choice.
