im looking at the 5'6" light action for trout. would the 1 piece or 2 piece be better for small cricks and streams? i just maily plan on running spiinners, maybe some grubs.

I always choose 1 piece over a two piece, i feel it transmits the vibrations better and I feel more confident about having a heavy bend in the rod without any weak points like in a two piecehowever, I do have a 2 piece 5'6" UL rod because I like to backpack/hike and fish so its easier to carry in two pieces specially when you're exploring wild areas
both will get the job done tho, just slightly different pros and cons

This rod, as well as all other Bass Pro Shops branded rods do carry a one year warranty.

I think its a one year warranty i may be wrong. But Yes, graphite rods are much more breakable than non graphite. But they are also alot more sensitive. You dont want to bend the tip and "check the durability" like ppl do at walmart on a graphite rod. It WILL break at the tip quite easily but properly used will last years and years. Generally the more expensive a rod the more sensitive it will be but also the more breakable it will be. "generally"Details:

The IM-7 is going to more sensitive than the IM-6. One should be as good as the other. I think that the IM-6 is not as brittle as the IM-7. So one might be more forgiving than the other! But you give up a bit of strength for sensitivity. It's a bit of give and take!

I have 7 of theses rods with 5.2.1 up to 5.8.1..A:
Gear ratio is more important to the type of lure you're using than the rod. For general purpose, a spinning reel with a 5.1:1 or 5.2:1 ratio is fine. This will cover the majority of the lures you'll be using with this rod, and all live bait. The Pflueger President and Quantum Q-Vex are excellent reels to match to this rod. If you are able to get into a Bass Pro Shops store, ask an associate for assistance. They will be able to help you determine the size of reel you need, and whatever line you might be using.Higher speed retrieves, like 6.3:1, are more beneficial for lures that need to move fast, such as spinnerbaits. However, with that type of lure and speed, you are better off using a baitcasting outfit.

The Bass Pro Shops Tourney Series IM-7 Graphite rod is an excellent choice. I would go with a 6'6" Medium Heavy model. Plenty of backbone for strong hooksets down deep, and the shorter length will give you more accuracy in your casting.Details:
Are the aluminum oxide guides molded into the guides, or are they inserts? How well do they hold up to being bumped around in the truck, on the boat and on the shore? How well do they hold up to braid?Does this model have a hook keeper? Thanks in advance!

This rod rod has ceramic rod guides which performed well and withstood being banged around in a boat for a week as well as transported in a rod tube.Yes it has a hook keeper

Hook Keeper - YES!I'm pretty sure they are inserted but I fish with 35lb braid all the time and haven't had any issues with guides or inserts coming loose from any of my Tourney Specials in all the years I've used them
