A: 
The wrench really just helps you turn the leupold ring into the dove tail. The wrench is too loose of a fit to really allign. I prefer the DNZ brand mounts. They are one piece base and ring, so you don't have to worry about proper alignment. The only really good way to allign the dovetail rings is with the steel bars. I know its a pain.
