(IF) you have adequate moisture and conducive temperatures, it germinates in about 7 days. Perennials will sit there for a while (3-4 weeks) after germination to develop a root system, and then it will take off. It will last 3 to 6 years or more.

with clover i usually plant in the fall and don't see great results till the spring and keep mowed duriing the summer and have estabishled clover for the fall.
