The thing is, I was born with only one hand... my left arm ends in the lower forearm area almost the wrist. I just started fishing again but much more than i was a kid, at least 3-4 times a week now, but I ALWAYS worry a lot when ever I land fish because it takes me a long time to unhook the fish with out causing it major harm, which happens about half the time almost.
I bought 2 different plastic cheap dehookers but, my big problem is that no matter what I try I can't get a solid opposite force going when i try to unhook with pliers or the dehookers...
The most comfortable way for me was handling the fish under my left arm against my chest kinda, but I've killed fish by squeezing too hard on accident so I just don't even do it that way anymore. But that's how i hold most things, up against my body.
I think this type of fish grip lock is perfect for my situation because I could lock up the fish with it in my right hand, then would be able to quickly switch it over to my left to tuck it under my arm & against my chest or just put it through my left arm like a purse kinda and finally be able to take the hook out properly! I rarely take my catch from the waters i fish.
I need something light, easy to hold & release, and most importantly for me that it will lock in place gripped position.
Thank you so much for any answers, help, and advice, I really do appreciate it!
