I am interested in purchasing this kit, but after reading some of the reviews am a little skeptical about it. I plan to be bow fishing often on Lake Elsinore in Southern California, when the carp are up on shore in water less than 8 inches deep. Is this the right kit to look at, or should I go with a different product like an AMS reel?

If you mean often as in more than 4-5 times a month, I would definately go with another product. The Bohning is decent if your just wanting to have a little fun, but if your wanting to get a little more serious about it, I would go with this. >>>
