I recommend the Penn Fierce 6000. I have one spooled up with 50lb. braid and it casts like a dream , has and all aluminum frame side plate and rotor, and has a Silky Smooth 39" per handle turn retrieve. With ship to store it costs around $75

Depends on what you are fishing for, I have a BPS CatMaxx reel on my tiger rod, size 70, really beefy reel that has nice drag and holds a lot of line, it's only $40, I was thinking of buying a Penn Saltwater Reel, but decided to try out the cat maxx and I have caught some good sized fish with no problems.

Colors wont match but the shimano sahara 4000 is very smooth reel with corrosion resistant bearings and it sells at around $80.00.

is this rod thin? ( i mean the handle bar etc ? ) can i catch fish up to 50lb? i was looking for the best rod with a clear very sensitive tip. is it very sensitive and light in weight ? it must bend a lot when fish bites the hook ( even for small fish )

I have the Tiger Spinning rod, which I got for Catfishing in Santee, SC. It performed great, sensative enough to feel bottom, and strong enough to bring in large cats, the largest I hooked into was about 35lbs, and had no problems reeling it in. Pole at handle is not thin, I would say like an offshore pole, and pole bends like any uglystik, I would recommend this rod, I cant wait to go use it again and hopefully land that trophy Cat

The rating of a rod indicates the range of line that is recommended for it. The heavier of these is rated for up to 50# line, You can successfully fight fish much larger than 50#, depending on your the reel and technique. If you are looking for a clear tip spinning rod, you probably want to look at the Ugly Stik striper UCSP or catfish UCCP line.

We use the XH Model Tiger Lite Spinning with a Spheros 18000 reel and 80 lb braid for Gulf Coast tuna to 120lb. You need backbone and drag to bring in the YFT unless you want to fight the fish for an hour or so...

We use them a lot in the gulf for tuna up to 120lb. Would like to get a 150lb, but no luck so far. We use a Spheros with 80lb braid and 18-22 lb of drag.
