is this the same texture as the "Senko" ? the senko is of this strange crumbly sort of material

No. It is not. A senko is a salt added bait using a softer plastic to make up for the frimness the salt adds. If you want a grub with similar texture look at the Yamamoto Grubs.

This bait does have a similar texture to a Senko or large diameter plastic work but it is not crumbly. In fact this bait holds up well to multiple big fish!
