with my bigger catfish rods, i cant tilt them back very far and still be able to fit the reel under the loop.

There arent any diagrams but the installtion is still very easy. They dont include screws because it would be a waste. You should use bolts to mount this to your boat, If you are using a rail mount, side mount or a surface mount the bolt size is going to be different . Its only a little drive to your local hardware store and a couple of bucks to get the right lenght bolts, washers and nuts for your application..

It's easy to mount, true mounting hardware does not come with this rod holder, I would recommend using brass bolts and hardware to mount the base to your boat. Drill a couple of holes and it's mounted in a couple of minutes.
