Just squeeze and the semi-split-ring opens, once you see them in person it will make sense, I am glad I bought some to try, it's all I use now.

A:
Two ways; 1. squeeze clip & place over the eye. 2. Just push it on the eye. First method--squeezing the clip, will depend on strength in your fingers.

A:
Just hold the top part of the clip between your index finger and thumb and squeeze, this seperates the eye so that you can now slide it onto the lure eye. I usually remove the split ring from the lure first.

They're spring loaded, all you have to do is pinch the sides together

A:
The trick is not to pinch the clip, just hold the clip in one hand lure in the other, place the attachment point of the lure on the clip, press it (the lure) down and slide or snap it on. Also just so you know, if your lure has a separate ring attached to it, you can cut or remove it because now with the speed clip it has become unnessary. So just attach your lure directly to the speed clip.

A:
The easiest way is with some split ring pliers that you can get here at BPS. Just spread apart the ring near the end of the wire and slide the eye of your bait in the gap, then just push it around. Getting the ring split apart is the tricky part, but the pliers make it much easier than your finger nail.

I like to troll crank baits, I use braided line and do not like to use swivels because I think they change the action. But with the braided line it is difficult to tie direct, does anyone have suggestions?

Try using mono. for trolling you can get better hook ups than braid when trolling. the speed clips give crankbaits great action. good luck.

they would be perfect. i do not notice a change in lure action. they are a little hard to use on baits with small split rings close to the bill

I prefer the palomar knot, as long you tie it properly it wont cut into the line when using flurocarbon

The Trilene knot is easy and very strong. I can actually bend or break treble hooks to retrieve my lure with this knot on 12 lb orig. Stren.
