year from date of purchase against defects in workmanship and/or
materials in the hydraulic system and five years from the date of purchase
against defects in workmanship and/or material in the structure.

Yes, you should have the new standard bolt pattern. If not you can drill the jack plate and it will not void the warranty.

I've never seen anyone try it. It does add a lot of weight to the transom, so you might not be able to put one on a jon boat. Check with a boat deaer for a better answer.

Depends on what size boat you have. It is a bit heavy so as long as you don't go over the weight rating you should be good.

I would not recommend it for an 8hp. Overkill comes to mind. There are some fixed mount plates out there that are much cheaper and will work well for you.

This unit weighs about 25-30 lbs. I use mine to jack a 150 Optimax so this unit might be overkill for your 8hp.
