an opposite kind of problem

Details:
My Superguide v14 single console w/ 25hp 2stroke Mercury requires me to put more weight in the back of the boat when planing and running wide open. If I have someone else drive and I sit as far back on the boat as possible, the boat runs faster and engine 'frees up'. Changing pin position helps straight line running but then it cavitates horribly on the slightest turn. This seems so backwards to anything I've read or seen before. Will a hydrofoil help this situation???

I have a 11'6" hard bottom inflatable rated for a 25hp but have a 20 hp 4-stroke. Bow rise is terrible, but gets on a plane in about a boat length. Coming off plane the extreme bow rise happens again and the transom dips low in the water and wants to take on water. Have as much cargo weight forward as possible.I have owned many boats but this is my first inflatable.

I am not familiar with your boat. Here is the information that is listed.

The 200 is smaller for a smaller motor being 8 - 40 hp. They should mention that in the catalog description.

The 300 is listed as being for motors larger than 40 HP.

The online description does list the motors that it will not fit as follows:
For all outboards and stern drives 25 HP and larger except: Volov; Merc 50 Two-Stroke; Merc 40, 50, 60 Four-Stroke (but does fit BigFoot models); Merc Bravo II and III (but does fit those with 2 round anodes); Honda® 200, 225.

You asked for "ideal" fit. The hydrofoil that is mounted on the cavitation plate is best when the boat has an odd shaped transom. If the rear of your boat is flat and wide enough to fit the "ideal" solution is to install automatic adjusting trim tabs.

A:
300- All sizes that have a cavitation plate larger than 5 inches wide, usually 40 horse power and up. Because the mounting holes on the SE Sport 300 are 4 inches apart, right to left (center to center), a 5 inch or smaller cavitation plate leaves less than ½ inch of metal from hole to the edge of the plate. The SE Sport 200 is recommended for cavitation plates 5 inches or less.

200 model is recommended for outboards from 8-40 HP. It will fit all outboards and sterndrives larger than 40 HP except Mercury 40, 50, and 60 four strokes. There are some smaller outboards (down to 4 HP) that it will fit as well.

Yes it will but with the obviously heavier boat that could handle that much power. You might also consider the auto adjusting trim tabs if they can be fitted to your hull.

Chine walking is caused by riding on the center (pad) of the boat with little or none of the boat touching the water on each side. Adding another device which lifts the boat even more from the center is more likely to make it worse. You will create a teeter totter efect, balancing on the center. Use Trim Tabs. Look at Smart Tabs SX9510-80 available here at Bass Pro. By the way, your top speed will increase about 5% or more.

According to the catalog description the 300 is the size for your engine.

The 200 is listed for a 4 - 40 HP engine and the 300 is listed as being for more than 40 HP.

I think that the smaller 200 would work better on your boat. I do not know if the center slot on the 200 is wide enough for your motor.

If you order the 200 be sure that it will fit before you remove it from the plastic wrap so that you can return it.

It does state on the SE Sports package instructions that you can cut and make minor modifications the foil to fit without damage to the foil.

The foil fits on the cavitation plate on the motor or out drive, not on the boat.

I assume that your description is that of a boat and not a motor.
