Well I wear XL shirts so I purchased the XL vest. The vest was to small. So my advice is purchase the next size up from your shirt size.

Measure your chest size, I have 50-52 chest XL in other vests but this one I had to purchase the 2XL to get the same chest size, other than that nice jacket for the $
