Yes---Bass pro has several jig heads that would go well. They even make a weedless model.I buy the reg. leadhead and paint them up w/nail polish or model paint. Also make the eye difft. color red usually. Enjoy Good FishN
First try a steady slow retrieve with small jerks in between. That is the most effective in my book. Then you can try ripping, twitching, and jiging the bait. It may change between seasons, tempurtures, and bodies of water. Tight Lines
They are very versitile and you will be suprized when you are fishing for one species and you catch an entirely different. I have caught all different kinds of sunnfish like redbreast, pumpkinseed, bluegill, and even longeared. Plus bass and black crappie. I have heard of people catching perch, white crappie, walleye, and striper on road runners (a bait almost identical to this).
We have had great success with this lure for crappie and bluegill.U can cast and use a pump action or steadyretireve both work well.Crappie especially seemto have color preference.I ahve set up a small clear box just for these lures. While fishing stmp jumpers I have landed 2 catfish and several bass also.My lil granddaughter sorta dabble fishes them on a jig pole w/great success.Have fun Go FishN
