I need to replace the old line on my 9 wt fly reel. I am going to alaska in a couple of weeks to fish silver salmon but use my fly rod more for redfish. What type of WF 9F line should I get?

A: 
Due to the core material in Saltwater lines vs freshwater lines you will need 2 lines for optimal performance when you fish both fresh and salt. Salt lines have a stiffer-core for warmer water and weather and fresh lines have a supple core for cold water and weather. If you were to fish a salt line in Alaska it will be very stiff and all coiled up making it almost impossible to cast. Do the right thing and buy two lines.

If you fish more in hot climates I recommend you buy the saltwater version as the freshwater version of any fly line becomes too supple in warm temperatures to properly load the rod.
