The reel will mostly be used in freshwater for cats, but sometimes in the ocean for bluefish and shark. Which do you think I should get; Shimano Spheros or Fin-Nor Sportfisher? Judging from the reviews, both seem to be a decent reel. Thanks!

FOR TARPON 100+ LBS A SPHEROS 8000 WOULD DO, A PENN SLAMMER LIVELINER 560 BETTER, AND A SARAGOSA 8000 WOULD BE GREAT

How will this reel work with braid?

Is there a better choice?

I will use this reel for bonefish and other small-to-medium sized saltwater species with mono leaders of 10-15 lb. test.

Which model should I buy?

What weight braid should I use?

A:
It's a good reel to use for bonefishing. I've used it numerous times for bonefishing in Grand Cayman and it performed well. I use Spiderwire 20# test which has the 6# diameter and a flourocarbon leader.

No better choice at this price. Works great with braid. 400 size should be just right. Suffix is hard to beat in 10 lb.
