I have a jar of Crappie Bites that has become hard. Will they soften up and become usable if I add some water to the jar?

A: 
Rather than adding water (this will turn the entire jar into one big pile of slimy goo), put the remaining crappie bites in a zip lock bag with a fresh piece of bread. In about 24 hours, the crappie nibbles should soften enough to use.
