Black/blue has been money for me all year long in the waters I fish. Get a second pack up front, fish tend to chase this thing and bite legs off if your retrieve is too fast.

Don't know length but it does come in smaller size. I have the smaller size but haven't used smaller size yet because the fish keep hitting the larger size. May have to wait until fall or next spring to test small one if larger size keeps working like it has.

I use this bait weightless/weedless over grass and moss just like you would a frog. Huge explosions! It's pretty durable too compared to some other "frog"-type soft plastics I've used.

I love this bait for pitching, flipping *when you want a larger bait*, and dragging on a Tx rig. Yes it catches fish, not just fisherman. Rig it the way the package tells you to, and when you finally fish out the front section, pinch that off and use it as a jig trailer. This works very well.

A:
The bait is designed for a weighted rig. When there is weight in front of the bait it brings it more rapidly down towards the bottom and causes the claws and arms to flap wildly, which is why this bait works so well. When you fish it weedless, you dont get the speed necessary to create that action. My recommendation is keep it weighted. Here's how to rig it:
1/4 to 1/2 oz bullet weight
XPS 4/0 Extra Wide Gap hook

How to fish the Space Monkey:
1. Cast your bait out and let it fall completely to the bottom
2. Once you reach bottom, lift your rod causing the bait to rise 3-5 feet up
3. Allow it to fall back to the bottom.
4. Repeat, or reel in and allow the initial fall to cause a strike.

The action of the Space Monkey is in the claws. This bait works well for me and I use it often. Rig and use it this way and you are sure to have success!

I rig it texas, weightless with a 5/0 worm hook and vary my retrieve. I reel it in steady so it works like a buzzbait or twitch it back like a fluke.

You probably could fish it weightless, but I have caught more fish texas rig with a 4/0 hook, you want some weight so when fall it get those legs moving and the attention of the fish, once it hit the bottom jig two or three times then pause, repeat the process until the two thumps or one hard thump come then set the hook because it fish on!!!!!!!!!!

The Best thing about this lure is that it can be fished many diffrent ways. I have caught fish with a jighead, and on a texas rig. It works best on a texas rig, as it is then turned weed-less. Try the watermelon color!
