The flat-sided LIVETARGET® Pumpkinseed crank is so lifelike and realistic looking that real live pumpkinseed sunfish may actually try to school or spawn with it. Deadly for bass, pike, walleye and most musky, the LIVETARGET® Pumpkinseed is designed to mimic a fleeing sunfish with the same moderate wiggle and swimming action, pulse and vibration as found in nature. If Pumpkinseed’s authentic swimming action does not trigger fish target in and drop the hammer, the realistic markings, scale patterns, raised gill plates and eyes certainly will. Both of them will catch fish, however keep in mind that the matte finish will chip off more easily and get worn off fast if you're trolling. I would go for the matte finish if you're not trolling and the glossy finish if you're going to be trolling for long periods of time. I personally feel like the natural matte works better because it seems more natural but I've had success on both finishes for bass fishing.

I like to use the glossy in clear waters and the matte in stained to muddy waters . The flash in the glossy will help to attract attention and also help to mask any unrealness that the bait has in comparison to the real thing . In muddy waters the dule paint jobs will show up better believe it or not by not reflecting what little light there is to quickly . I would not be stubburn to these conclusions though because at time s either will work in both water types . Hope that helps out in some way .

I don't know about others but I use 1/2 oz. because I like bigger baits because I will trade off the more #'s of fish for the larger fish every time but I'm not a tournament fisherman anymore . I have had success with both though when others go with me . The shad baits are better by far out in the deep in to about 3ft. But these baits do draw the strikes in 8ft. to 1ft. and have had a few times when they were exactly what the fish wanted . Nearly all hookups you get are deep in the mouth and that is a very high praise that you can't claim to too many hardbaits . My experience with Hard baits is most hookups overall are not deep in the mouth but as I said these will more often than not . They are must have baits for all crankbait fisherman. Good Luck and tight lines .

1/2 oz. is going to cast farther and feel better in the water...1/4 matches the hatch a little better...I like both sizes for all situations
