    Looking for stainless steel bottle to hold protein shakes.. needs to stay cold for 4-5- hours.

    I would not depend on it to keep anything cold for more than maybe an hour or two providing the ambient temperature is fairly cool. It's only a single layer bottle with no real thermal qualities.

    4 hours would be pushing it, i take it fishing filled with ice cubes and around 2 1/2 hours most of the ice is gone, could work if you had an insulated jacket for it, look for a bottle thats already insulated it would be a better choice for you.

    Probably not. The metal bottle transfers heat very well. Water with ice cubes stayed cold for couple hours (in 85 degree temps) but ice was melted. If you had an insulating sleeve, it might work. Sounds like you need an insulated thermos instead.

    This bottle is "single-wall", so no, not really.
    I only use it for water and it works a little better then a plastic Aquafina bottle
