Also, will the back part be any bigger/heavier? I know, seems nitpicky but for ten bucks more I will take a 100 lb increase in weight limit I just don't want to buy something that will be overly large. Thanks

When using a climber, I want something that will let me safely ascend and decsend in case of a issue. I have had my bottom climber fall out and the pin come out of the chain so that I could not reconnect and left hanging in the tree perched on my top climber until help arrives. I would like to use this not only in a stationary situation but as I ascend and decsend fromt he tree. Please let m know what is the best options. I have not used a linemans belt and not sure that is my answer since I would like something to help me get to the ground safely in case I fall during the climb. Any help is greatly appreciated

If I were to fall out of the stand and it lowered me to the ground, would I be able to use the descent system again or would I have to buy a new descent system or a new harness? I have looked at other slowed descent products and they are only for a one time use and I was wondering if this product is the same. I don't want to be out $170 if I were to fall. Any help is appreciated.

You can use it multiple times. I found it very easy to set up for a second use. The video that comes with it recommends that you try it multiple times from a standing position on the ground before using at tree stand height. I am very satisfied with mine.

Yes, you can use this system as many times as you need too without having to repurchase the system. I have tested my system 4 times already, just to make sure I know how to use and repack it. It comes with a DVD to explaing how to use and reuse the system.

The smaller model should fit although he will notice the rescue rope when he leans back. However, almost best of all is that your son may never grow out of the CDS system you get for him. It is easily repacked. I bet he will jump from his stand a few ties just for fun. The CDS is easily repacked.

I'm a bigger hunter, and most of them that I've seen say 300 lb. limit. Well, I wouldn't weigh 300 if I stripped down to my birthday suit...usually tip the scales at 315, except for after thanksgivng or christmas. Friends have told me that there is an additional "safety factor" built in to these figures, but I wouldn't wanna test that theory from 25 feet up a tree, ya know? Looking to purchase one real soon, along with a climbing tree stand, so any feed back would be greatly appreciated.

I must be about your size. I use the Big Boy model. Weight capacity 400#. It is well made, strong very easy to use. It's comfortable although the packed rope is noticeable when you lean back. Padding helps.
