Hey 90XRay, First I would start with a Shimano, they are the best quality for the money and they will last as long as your rod. Second, depending on the length and action of your rod would determine the size of reel, 2500, 3000, or 4000. My best suggestion would be the new Shimano Stradic in the 3000 size, it is very affordable and would match up well on either the 6'8" or 7' length rods. If you have a shorter rod like a 6'6" or 6'3" then I would recomend the 2500 size Stradic. Hope this helps and good luck on the water!!! Cheers, RB
It all depends on which model you have and what you're after. Bass? 6'6"? You can never go wrong with a Stradic. Casts well. The Ci4 is light. Pfleuger has a new Patriarch that sounds awesome and their supremes always get top marks.
