I spin the bait after wetting the insert so it hopefully does not damage the bait or affect presentation.

You'll need to spin your bait into the screw-lock keeper to secure it on the hook; otherwise, you'll tear the nose of your bait.

Screw it in. Do not just push. Pushing it will make it easy to fall out. Screw it in slowly and let the screw do the work. Spin the bait or the screw.
