The reel is listed as a walleye reel when using the function to only list reels by type. I was wondering if this reel can be used for bass fishing? Or is it not recommended to use a reel designated as a walleye reel for bass fishing - or vice versa.

The reel is good for all fishing for about a year then, it starts to make grind noises.
This brand is the very best but if you fish a lot spend a little more for one that will last longer than a year.

Actually, if you look at the package for braid line, it should list 2 numbers - the breaking strength of the line and its mono equivalent in pounds. For example: If your braid says 30 lbs braid, 8 lbs mono, then the line is as thick as 8 lbs mono. Figure line cap this way for braid. Also, braid line gives you the diameter of the line. All line cap scales should list both breaking strength and diameter so refer to the diameter section in this cast (It looks something like .011 as an example) Also, when figuring line cap, you really are better off using diameter than you are breaking strength because different companies have different diameters for their individual breaking strengths and it varies by line type also - ie 14lbs mono is thicker than 14lbs florocarbon. Hope this help and good fishing!

A:
This refers to the spool turns per handle turn ratio. In your case, a 6.4:1 gear ration means that the spool makes 6.4 revolutions for every 1 turn of the handle. The higher the first set of numbers, the faster the reel will retrieve line. Keep in mind though, the lower the number, the more "Power" you have during the retrieve. Think of it this way, the higher number equal more horsepower, the lower the number, the more torque. Hope this helps and good fishing.

A:
Thats the amount of line it will bring in per handle turn. Usually a 6:4.1 is around 27 to 29 inches depending on what brand of reel it is.

No they do not, but if u dont mind soending an extra $40, u should try a Bass Pro Shops® Pro Qualifier® Baitcast Reel. I just bought mine and i love it it is a fantastic reel. there was no "break in period" as u would say i havent had one backlash yet. I have even casted ion to the wind and it was like nothing hasd happened...This reel works like a champ. i highly recommend it

No, it is a right hand only. Just purchased one today. Sales people highly recommended this one. I was looking at the KVD for $89 and they told me that there have been several returned, but they have never had one of these returned with problems. Can't wait to try it out.
