The vest is adjustable to fit in a large range of sizes. If this vest does not fit comfortably, we do offer a 30 day no hassel return policy for an exchange or refund. If you are questioning whether this vest will provide enough flotation for a person near 250 pounds, it should with no issues.

Just wondering how easily the vest is inflated. Can it be accidently inflated by getting it caught on something or even bumped by something?

A:
It was super easy to pull and the only way it could be accidentally inflated is if you caught the handle on something and pulled real hard which I never did in the last 5 or so years I went hunting with it up until I had to use it last Sunday Nov 13 and it saved my life.

The color doesn't actually change upon inflation. All of the BPS branded inflatable vest have reflective piping that shows up very well in the dark. If you don't feel that's enough, you may want to invest in a durable emergency light like the Revere See-Me Water-Activated Emergency Locator Strobe Light. BPS carries them, and they typically run about 30 bucks. You also need to consider the fact that if you do fall in, there will probably be less than a foot of you above the water. At that point, the color isn't going to matter a whole lot from a level point of view.

It's reusable. I haven't inflated it, but it looks like it would be easy to reload.

A:
No. This is the manual inflatable vest. You have to pull the rip cord. The auto inflatable will inflate on its own if it becomes submerged. Rain won't effect it in any way. I believe the pressure of the water is what causes the auto inflatable to inflate, so at any rate, no amount of rain hitting the vest will cause it to inflate.

The manual one only inflates when tab is pulled. The automatic one I've heard will inflate if it gets real wet during a rainstorm. I have the manual one it works great; just don't get the tab caught on something like my Dad did then you'll be spending $17 for a re-arming kit.

Yes, it is easily adjustable. My father weighs 100# more than me. We have the same vest and it adjusts from wearing just a shirt to wearing multiple layers in 20 degree weather. Love this vest; highly recommend it.
