I wanted to know if there is enough clearance to cycle thru rounds with out dismounting the rifle of the site. I use a marlin 336 and a Henry 22 and have had issue with other rest. I want to make sure before I buy another rest that is useless for a lever action shooter.

Im not really looking for a lot of recoil reduction, I just want to know if this will hold up to this large of a round or if going up in the model line would be better for big calibers.Answers

Not sure about a Rossi single shot specifically, but I used it with my ruger 10/22, pretty much a youth sized gun, and the process went very smooth. The only downfall to shooting a single shot gun on this rest is that if it's a break action, you have to un-velcro the barrel from the forearm rest between shots to open the breech and reload... Not terrible, but not as easy as a semi-auto or bolt action.Details:

Yes. I shot 10 rounds of the Hornady SST 12 ga. 2 3/4", and the recoil was definitely reduced. I did use a 25lb bag of lead shot in the tray. My firearm is a Maverick 88 w/ Mossberg 24" rifled cantilever barrel.

You actually strap the entire riflle in the Lead Sled, it holds both the forearm and butt of the rifle in a consistent placement for repeated firing. The Handy Rest allows you to place the forearm of the rifle on it while you manage butt placement. The Lead Sled is much larger, heavier, and awkward; you need a larger flat surface to use the Lead Sled, but it is better for sighting in scopes.

Most of gun's recoil is unfelt by the shooter using this...unless really large magnum rifle is being fired.1 of 1
