A: 
I think most treestands will survive year round but I prefer to take mine down when I am done. 2-3 months in a tree compared to 12 months means a stand will last 4 to 6 times longer if you take it down. I have never had to replace a stand yet!!

I had a baby grand in a tree for about 8 years and it's held up pretty well. Replacing it this year.
