Length

Details:
I usually wear a tall, because I am about 6'3". I saw there is not a tall in these, and was wondering how close the fit is to the Large Tall in the RedHead BONE-DRY C.W.S. Insulated Bibs.
Thanks

I've worn these bibs in temps from 55 down to 10. They are very warm. You might be comfortable in 55 degrees if you're only wearing boxers underneath, and you're not moving. They really heat up when you're hiking or packing in. I was perfectly fine when it was 40 degrees and raining, just sitting on the ground. Bone dry. They are certainly wind proof and rain proof.

You wont need thermals until the temps get closer to 30s. I wear fleece layer when it's below 20.

Not sure what the manufacturer range is, but if you wear these in 55 degree weather you're going to bake. I would recommend them for 40 degrees F and lower. I would feel comfortable wearing them down to 0 with appropriate underlayers.

A:
WAY too hot for 55 degrees, unless you're extremely cold-blooded. I wouldn't want to wear mine unless it was mid-40's and below. I've been in them down to -14F and perfectly comfortable.

I'm not sure about the products from several years ago, but the newer products are absolutely quiet.

They have the texture of a fleecy-leather. It's not like any other I've seen. They make no noise when they rub against each other while walking, or against tree branches.

There is ZERO crinkle sound, as with most waterproof/windproof clothing.

I've got the The H3.1 bibs and H6 jacket and with the selent suede material, these are very quiet. Much quieter than other pair of bibs that I have, which are loft-insulated gore-tex.

I am normally a XXL, but these fit perfectly in an XL size. I would say buy a size smaller than you normally would unless you wear heavy layers underneath.

I have worn these and 150 gram Thinsulate CWS bibs. I would say they are probably on par with each other. The Arctic Shield gets very hot if you walk in it for any appreciable distance. It's like a space blanket under the liner, so it reflects your body heat.

A:
ArcticShield's technology (RE-tain) is very difficult to compare to loft type insulation technologies, because RE-tain works very differently. Loft type insulations slows heat transfer with dead air space. RE-tain traps and reflects heat energy back toward the body, which is how the warming effect is created.
